Member Service Representative I – Babcock

About the Job

Our Member Service Representatives have a passion for service and the financial savvy to give exceptional member support. In this role you will build relationships with our members by providing solutions, assisting with the opening of new accounts, and performing routine monetary transactions.

You’ll need a knack for identifying cross-selling opportunities—not just for additional products, but for items which will benefit the member’s well-being and financial growth.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with performing member transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, address changes, account opening, etc.
  • Developing, strengthening, and deepening member relationships.
  • Creating loyalty by exceeding member expectations
  • Identifying member needs and selling the appropriate products and/or services.
  • Contributing to business objectives through exceptional performance.

Job Requirements

Education: We require a high school diploma or GED equivalent at minimum.

Experience: A minimum of one -two years of cash handling, sales, and operations.Two to five years of similar experience in a financial institution.

Interpersonal Skills: The Member Service Representative must be able to apply their knowledge of products, policies, and procedures creatively to solve problems on the job and make recommendations to members. As someone frequently working with confidential information, it is critical the Member Service Representative be able to build strong bonds and foster trusting relationships with members, vendors, and staff. This requires strong interpersonal and social skills. .

Other: Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task while managing time effectively. Excellent communication and sales skills. Must be proficient with MS Office software. Financial institution experience preferred; Symitar experience a plus. Must have access to reliable transportation to facilitate working in multiple branch locations. Up to 40-hour work week; may include some Saturdays. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Travel:

Position may require travel between branches to work as a Member Service Representative as needed. River City Federal Credit Union has four San Antonio locations.
