Job Summary

The VP of Sales will report to the CEO and will be working closely with all functional departments of the Company, including with the Chief Science Officer, CFO, Business Development, and with Customer Service and Finance functions. The VP of Sales will lead and manage a small sales team to develop and enhance go to market strategies, develop leads and prospects, develop new and maintain existing customer and industry relationships, and ultimately develop a robust and growing pipeline that translates into sales.

Company – Hubb Filters, Inc. (“HUBB”) is a Bay Area company that has developed and patented a revolutionary and sustainable performance oil filter that has the potential to disrupt the motor oil filtration industry. The global oil filtration industry ($10B+ annual revenues) serves 1.4 billion passenger vehicles and 50+ million heavy equipment vehicles and has not materially changed in 60 years. Every year the we dispose of billions of dirty toxic oil filters into the environment. HUBB Filters allows for the elimination of disposable oil filters, lower overall oil usage and consumption, but also delivers superior engine protection, lower operating costs and lower engine emissions. We are a small start up ramping up to grow and looking for a well rounded, top tier VP of Sales with strong attention to detail. We are located in Marin County in Northern California and would prefer local candidates.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Manage the overall Sales function, creating and developing strategic plans for the Company’s sales and go to market strategies
  • Lead, manage and develop a sales team to ensure peak production, compliance with corporate policies, and the development of new business
  • Be able to develop deep product knowledge, understand technical aspects of the product, and be able to communicate effectively to customers the benefits of the product and the value the company and the product can provide
  • Develop and present sales presentations to prospects and potential customers, other business development partners, and trade shows
  • Help develop an industry and market presence for the Company and its products
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure proper forecasting of sales to ensure Operations can properly meet demand and maintain product availability
  • Develops, reports, and maintains related KPI’s: Lead generation, pipeline development and movement, closings.
  • Maintains strong working relationships and communications with internal and external constituents
  • Work with finance to understand, provide feedback and input, and implement pricing strategies
  • Work closely with Customer Service operations to help manage the launch and implementation of our products with new customers
  • Maintain and use extensively CRM tools (currently salesforce)
  • Be able to travel extensively

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Significant experience as a sales leader with a proven track record of success
  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the product
  • Automotive experience desired (a passion for cars also helpful)
  • Experience in complex selling – hardware and service, but more importantly selling benefits and value proposition
  • Strong project management, organizational, analytical, communication and networking skills
  • Strong work ethic, be available as needed, we are a start up and this is not a 9-5 job
