Senior Accounting Manager

The Senior Accounting Manager will play a key role in the development and preparation of financial reports to support both compliance and management decision making, leading monthly and yearly accounting closes, protecting company assets and managing assigned staff.

  • Develop and prepare financial reports including financial statements, KPI reports, and budgets
  • In association with Controller analyze and report monthly results
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly and year end close
  • Proactively evaluate inventory processes and procedures to ensure inventory accuracy and protection of assets including reconciling and analyzing inventory accounts
  • Manage accounts payable staff and ensure timely and accurate payments and recording of transactions
  • Responsible for all aspects of Fixed Asset tracking and reporting
  • Calculate and report royalty expenses
  • Prepares reconciliations and journal entries as necessary
  • Establish and maintain sound accounting principles, practices and procedures
  • Continually evaluate the Company’s internal controls, processes and procedures
  • Act as a key contact for the external auditors
  • Actively support departmental initiatives as well as taking a key role in company initiatives involving evaluation of processes, procedures, controls, and accounting systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or MBA
  • 10+ years of broad accounting experience including strong inventory experience
  • Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft NAV a plus)
  • Experience with Targit Business Intelligence or similar toolset i.e. Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects, OBIEE, Web Focus etc. a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Able to foster collaboration and teamwork for maximum efficiency
  • Ability to easily conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
  • Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done including overtime as needed
  • Ability to intuitively anticipate problems, and proactively drive remediation strategies
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including management, clients and peers from other departments
  • Strong organizational abilities and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
