Payroll Manager

SecureAuth is an exciting information security company headquartered in Irvine, CA with a global presence in the UK, Australia and Argentina. We are currently looking for an individual contributor Payroll Manager to join the Finance and Accounting team in Irvine, CA. This position will report to the Corporate Controller.

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR YOU TO DO IN THIS CRITICAL ROLE:

As the Payroll Manager you will ensure the accurate completion of all aspects of employee compensation for approximately 200 Global employees. You will maintain the ADP WFN and TriNet payroll system, and interface with global payroll service providers. As Payroll Manager you will also be responsible following and filing all legal requirements for taxes, audits, and other reporting. Finally, the role will be the primary point person to interface directly with SecureAuth’s team members on all payroll related matters.


WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE:


  • Manage payroll operations for 200 global employees, including employee compensation, bonuses, and commission. This includes researching discrepancies and identifying and resolving all payroll-related issues
  • Perform monthly payroll close duties, including the preparation of journal entries in Netsuite and reconciliations of all payroll and benefits related accounts
  • Communicate changes for international employees to third party payroll processors
  • Develop, implement and maintain payroll calendar, policy and procedures in a fast moving/changing environment
  • Lead the project transfer of all payroll to one vendor, ADP.
  • Ownership of payroll procedures including analysis, design and implementation of changes to ensure continuous improvement in accuracy and efficiency, while operating within compliance of company policies
  • Review sales compensation and company Bonus calculation
  • Review, process and approve and manage the expense reimbursements process through Expensify
  • Coordinate and partner with HR to keep all payroll records accurate and up to date
  • Deliver out of cycle/ad hoc payments to employees and issuance of manual checks or electronic transfers to bank accounts
  • Support annual financial statement, 401(k), and audits as required
  • Manage annual preparation and delivery of Form W-2s
  • Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters
  • Research and set up new tax jurisdictions for payroll tax filing
  • Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local payroll tax laws
  • Ad hoc projects and account reconciliations

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and/or equivalent combination of education
  • 5-7 years of experience managing full-cycle multi-state payroll processes and new-state registration
  • Demonstrate extreme integrity and maintain confidentiality of employee compensation
  • Active Certified Payroll Professional
  • Experience with international payroll processing and coordination
  • Highly analytical with a strong working knowledge of general payroll protocols, accounting principles and Federal, State and local regulations
  • Demonstrated expertise supporting best practice payroll processes, systems, policies, and key internal controls
  • Process improvement mindset and demonstrated problem solving abilities
  • Self-directed and able to work well and communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Hands-on and able to work effectively with team members at all levels
  • Expertise in ADP Workforce Now and TriNet Payroll and Reporting
  • Fluency with MS Office – especially Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with NetSuite and Expensify
  • Experience in implementation and/or migration of ADP
