Direct the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and/or investment activities of the assigned business unit/part of an organization. Serve as project manager for the solution development process, utilizing technology whenever possible to improve operational and analytical capabilities. Interact with tax personnel on a global basis to identify opportunities to utilize technology. Identify and implement best in class tax technology to help drive operational efficiencies in Global Tax Processes. Partner with Tax Operations and Tax Planning as well as finance, IT, and external vendors to identify technology solutions that enable efficient accurate, and sustainable tax reporting compliance and planning activities. Serve as liaison between the Tax and IT Department to: Facilitate clear communication of the tax team’s information technology needs and codevelop solutions for both income and transaction tax; Manage and respond to questions related to current and future tax and finance technology initiatives; and Become subject matter expert in all new and emerging IT tools, systems and technologies in order to maintain and maximize their use within the Tax Department. Execute a program management process for tax technology projects, including a clear outline of the project scope, timeline and resource needs (internal IT, tax technology, and tax), plan of execution, implementation and end-user training. Develop strategy to identify data needed for tax authority examinations and develop a plan to extract and retain such data. Provide analysis/validation of the data to support the examination process. In connection with the above duties, apply knowledge and/or skills of Project/Program Management using tools such as JIRA or Visio; Enterprise Systems; SAP and Vertex Tax systems design, implementation, and support; Strategic planning and budgeting; Document Management; Conducting qualitative financial analysis of software and hardware product portfolios/companies; Developing business and growth strategies; Creating long-range plans; Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
