The Finance & Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day financial and operations of the school. The FOM is responsible for accounting, banking, contracts and ensuring accurate implementation of sound and effective financial, payroll and benefits systems. The FOM will be the direct supervisor of the Operations Coordinator. This person reports to the Executive Director.

Duties and responsibilities included but not limited to:

Accounting & Bookkeeping

*Analyze, interpret and apply federal and state laws and accounting regulations.
*Determine correct financial reporting procedures.
*Analyze, use, and interpret accounting and financial data.
*Prepare clear and concise reports.
*Answer school district questions and complex technical accounting questions; facilitate the efficient flow of information to staff regarding benefits, payroll, expenses, credit card expenses and policies
*Prioritize tasks and organize work to meet deadlines.
*Learn and successfully use new software and technology as required to fulfill the requirements of the job.
*Perform arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy; correct arithmetical errors made by others.
*Analyze situations and make decisions on procedural matters without immediate supervision.
*Communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
*Maintain the organization’s bookkeeping including accounts payable and receivable and provide monthly financial reports or as requested by the Board of Directors and outside financial agencies.
*Complete all banking activities; deposits, collections, monthly bank reconciliation.
*Oversees and maintains Petty Cash.
*Organize and maintain financial and business records
*Review and ensure completion of all business contracts, individual service agreements, and insurance policies in collaboration with the Executive Director.
*Complete monthly billing to school districts no later than the 10th day of the month.
*Ensure the organization meets non-public school licensing requirements in collaboration with the Administrative team
*Work in collaboration with outside accountant and Board Treasurer for quarterly and annual closings of the finances
*Works with outside CPA firm to ensure sound financial practices and complete annual audit
*Work in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to produce an annual budget
*Prepares the annual SARC
*Attend Board meetings and respond to questions regarding financial position of the school

Human Resources

Implement human resource procedures for approximately 45 employees, including
*Placing or updating employee ads
*Completing employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes
*Trains and enrolls employees in school benefit plans
*Entering payroll information into paychecks and maintain employee salary and benefit changes
*Updating staff rosters and sending to designated District and State agencies
*Maintaining employee Handbooks and other training documentation
*Updates employee files
*Cooperates with legal counsel on employee related issues
*Manages employee PTO


*Supervise Operations Coordinator

Desired Qualifications

*BS/MS in related field and/or 5 plus years of experience implementing the job duties
*Excellent analysis, judgment, assessment and problem-solving skills
*Excellent accounting skills
*Ability to meet deadlines
*Ability to work in collaboration with other people
*Knowledge of QuickBooks software
*Efficient knowledge of Excel, Word and MS Office Software
*Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
*Ability to work around individuals with special needs
*Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
*Attention to details and multi-tasking
*Collaborative, honest, trustworthy, adaptable
