Accounting Manager

North American Client Services is a 100% employee owned company focused on assisting our client facilities in providing Five-Star patient services. North American’s 34 client facilities have the highest CMS/Medicare Star ratings; no other skilled nursing operator of our size in the United States has such a high percentage of 5-Star facilities. Facilities are located in California and Washington.

Our Accounting Department is expanding and looking for an Accounting Manager to join the team. This person will be directly involved with the month end reporting process for our client facilities as well as maintaining the general ledgers for other accounts and entities. Additional areas of focus will include improving processes, implementing internal controls, and assisting with financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare month end reconciliations and entries for several entities
  • Maintain various GL accounts on a consolidated level
  • Review reconciliations and entries prepared by others
  • Develop processes and analysis for accounting estimates
  • Identify efficiencies for existing processes and participate in implementation of improvements
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and external financial reporting
  • Evaluate technical accounting issues as they arise
  • Support the annual financial statement audit and other audits and projects
  • Work closely with all members of the accounting team
  • Collaborate on other projects and initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experienced with accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, process improvement, problem solving, and financial analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated communication and leadership abilities
  • Self motivated and able to prioritize and balance multiple responsibilities
  • Proficient in Excel
  • 3 -5 years of experience, either in public accounting or a combination of public accounting and industry experience
  • CPA certified preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related area of study
  • Experience in the healthcare industry and with Great Plains a plus, but not required
