Member of the AVS management team responsible for providing both financial and advisory services to the company. This includes the management and coordination of the AVS accounting, financial reporting, hands-on cost accounting and analyzing data.


  • Running the accounting department and supervising accounting assistant
  • Ensuring prompt payment of vendors
  • Monitoring Accounts Receivable and ensuring appropriate follow up so AR does not excessively age
  • Overseeing bi-weekly payroll for correctness of pay and deductions, with particular attention to 401K deductions
  • Preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations and the monthly close binder
  • Reviewing the General Ledger entries and monitoring actual expenses against budget
  • Preparing the monthly financial and management accounting and reporting to Japan
  • Monitoring Cash Flows and preparing cash flow forecast for Japan
  • Continuously updating and monitoring Standard Costs and explaining variances
  • Reviewing cost accounting in General Ledger & recommend improvements
  • Quarterly and annual Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Providing detailed analysis and explanations of monthly results
  • Coordinating with Banks and KPMG for annual financial audit
  • Entering Journal Entries
  • Posting mass Journal Entries and Invoices
  • Maintaining Syteline reports
  • Responsibility for ensuring all statutory filings are met (eg quarterly sales and use tax returns)
  • Coordinating 401K audit with auditors
  • Continually reviewing and updating the Accounting Procedures manual
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • At least five years’ experience in a corporate accounting environment required
  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience required
  • Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • CPA (or equivalent e.g. CMA) qualification and training a plus
  • Experienced in corporate financial reporting and budgeting & forecasting
  • Must demonstrate the ability to create own work direction and prioritization
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Possess solid computer skills
  • Must be proficient in:
  • Excel – create and work with spreadsheets
  • Word – create and format professional correspondence
  • Outlook – email & maintain company calendars
  • Knowledge of a Database software
  • Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be dependable and flexible
  • Must be able to work positively with management team in order to continuously improve the business
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is desirable
  • Experience in regulatory requirements of medical device manufacturing is desirable.
