Glenora Wine Cellars

Veraisons Restaurant, a farm to table restaurant, located at the Inn at Glenora Wine Cellars in the heart of Finger Lakes Wine Country, is seeking an experienced, professional and highly motivated Executive Chef with effective leadership skills to join our culinary team. The Executive Chef is responsible for leading the team to deliver high-quality, and great tasting food, while practicing proper food safety and sanitation procedures. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate their innovative and creative culinary skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Creates and develop recipes, menus, daily meal specials to include but not limited to quarterly seasonal menus, wedding/corporate group special event menus, food and wine pairing dinners, and the Seneca Lake Wine Trail special events culinary offerings
  • Facilitates and ensures guest’s dietary restrictions, and lifestyle choices i.e. vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, are met and exceeded
  • Ensures that every guest of Veraisons Restaurant and the Inn at Glenora experiences the excellence of the Glenora Brand
  • Maintains and cultivates relationships with area purveyors for quality, local ingredients
  • Is a face of Veraisons, making public appearances and presentations when called upon
  • Is an outstanding example of the Glenora team to our guests and potential guests
  • Demonstrates leadership, time management, multitasking, and motivation to the team
  • Ensures superior food quality, sanitation, and guest service for all aspects of Veraisons restaurant
  • Establishes & completes all work within the parameters of the restaurant budget, to include adhering to budgeted food, beverage, and labor costs
  • Develops innovative ideas for increasing sales
  • Observes and works along with kitchen staff’s food preparations (prep, cooking, portions, garnishing, etc.) to ensure food is prepared and served in the predefined manner
  • Hires, trains, supervises and coordinates activities of kitchen staff
  • Completes inventories and food/supply ordering
  • Provides direction to front of the house staff, as needed, to ensure the best possible guest experience

  • Minimum 4 year culinary degree
  • 4 years of restaurant management experience required
  • 4 years of culinary kitchen experience required
  • Wine and food pairing knowledge preferred
  • Must be level headed, organized, accurate, thorough, dependable,

self-motivated and a team player
