Maryhaven is a nonprofit, Long Island based agency committed to helping persons with special needs including intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and/or substance abuse/dependence issues to realize their full potential. The agency’s purpose is to establish, maintain and operate progressive programs and services which are residential, educational, vocational, and rehabilitative in nature. The ideal goal is the attainment of normalization, in all aspects of life, for each individual we support.
Provides supervision for 6 to 12 developmentally disabled children within a classroom setting. Leads the classroom team that delivers educational services including academic, vocational, social, and independent living skills instruction. Provides supervision to classroom team including aides, assistants.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education.
- New York State Education Licensure in Special Education.
- Completion of Permanent Special Education certification with 5 years of employment.
- SCIP-R certification within 3 months of employment and maintained.
