The Account Director is the primary contact between the Agency and the Client and has ultimate responsibility for the global client account. The Account Director works across multiple lines of an account developing and executing synergistic solutions which help our Clients to grow their business and gain market share. The incumbent leads the account team from strategy development to solution delivery. The Account Director ensures that solutions provided are on strategy and meet client expectations. The incumbent also supervises overall performance management for account team members. You will partner with senior leadership to help drive revenue and ensure efficient delivery of the promised scope. This role will be working on a large technology account; therefore, technology experience is preferred, but not required.


Strengthen and expand relationships with key clients.

Supervise strategic development and implementation of direct initiatives, including print and digital, locally and globally across Wunderman Production hubs.

Fiscal responsibility for overall account profitability including client budget, expense reporting, and campaign profits and losses.

Liaison between Agency and Client to establish goals and budget and ensure the receipt of quality, cost-effective solutions.

This client is supported across WPP agencies; you will be responsible for acting as a liaison across the integrated agency teams.

Educates Clients about Agency capabilities and acts as Agency Ambassador

Creates a positive, collaborative, protective environment that ensures everyone on the team is well-equipped and motivated to create great work.

Develops, trains and mentors account team identifying and supporting career paths.

Acts as a respected and inspirational mentor across the integrated team, managing workloads while providing opportunity for learning and development, and creates a fertile creative environment where great ideas can grow.

Volunteers for and supports pro-bono and new business efforts as needed.


BA/BS degree required.

Seven to ten years of professional experience in a related field.

Strong direct marketing experience with an integrated marketing perspective is critical.

Agency and account management experience required.

Expertise in developing and implementing cross-channel advertising.

Extensive partnering skills, both internally and externally, with demonstrated legacy of building and growing accounts.

Dynamic leadership, strategic thinking, management, and team building skills.

Ability and proven track record of new business development.

Successful track record managing multiple client assignments.

Experience managing 2+ direct reports

Proven communicator and presenter.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Sound qualitative & quantitative analytical skills.

Knowledge of all agency functional areas; including production, media, research and database.
